Hey there and welcome to our feature request forum for The Events Calendar, Event Tickets and all of the premium plugins we develop provide on TheEventsCalendar.com!

We’re always looking for new and awesome ways to improve our products. We think they’re pretty great out of the box, but we also know that there are often things that could make them even better for how folks like yourself use them in the real world. Our tools help the right people, get to the right place at the right time. How can we improve our products and make them super awesome for you and your users? That’s where we can use your help!

If there are features that our products do not currently support but you think would be a huge added value for you and lots of other people, then please share them here with us. The submission form will walk you through a few quick questions to get the ball rolling.

Before posting your idea, here are a few tips that will help make your request stand out and succeed:

  • Look to see if someone else has suggested the same idea, or something very similar. Many ideas are being submitted and it’s very possible that another request already exists. In that case, add your vote to the existing request.
  • Be as descriptive as possible. What does the feature do? Where would it be located? Who would use it? How does this improve the overall experience of managing an events calendar in WordPress?
  • Use mockups, if possible. Pictures are worth a thousand words and having a visual often brings a greater level of clarity to an idea.

  1. Autofill the featured image in WooCommerce Tickets

    Make it possible to add the WooCommerce Product featured image from within the ticket meta-block in the event. I would be perfectly happy with either of three solutions:
    1 reusing the header image
    2 reusing the featured image of the event
    3 selecting a separate image for just this reason.

    But can understand if option 1 might conflict with how the image might be used otherwise and option 2 might conflict with the fact that the ticket is stored basically separate from the event, so perhaps option 3 should be it and will save me a lot of time anyway.…

    • Add true Subscribe Functionality for iCal & Google

      Downloading an iCal file is NOT THE SAME as a true subscribe to calendar function where users calendars are updated automatically with new events, changes to events and so forth. It's a total disappointment to find out that the other suggestion was closed when it the suggested feature was clearly not implemented. Having a static download is actually worse because users think they've subscribed and never get updates and have no reason to believe that they aren't getting the latest info.

        This snippet changes the “iCal Export” buttons to be webcal:// links, which suggests to calendar applications that they should subscribe instead of downloading the .ics file.

        It requires The Events Calendar version 4.6.5 or newer.

      • You should add pay to submit event.

        Some magazines charge to post events. If this connected with woo commerce or something payment gateway we can charge for people to post their events.

        • Prevent duplicate events from Facebook event aggregator feeds

          Problem description: We have feeds from many local organizations' Facebook event pages. Many of these groups share each other's events on their pages -- as people do on Facebook. When their events pages get fed into the calendar, we get duplicate events.

          Proposed solution 1: I believe each Facebook event has a unique Event ID number that follows it wherever it is shared. So the same event can be displayed on numerous groups' FB pages but Facebook keeps track of it as only one event. Can you please add the Event ID number to the inputs you feed in from…

          • Assign Seats

            Assign seat numbers (randomly?) from a pre-determined list of seats (grouped together by quantity). Even if a user cannot choose his or her seats (as suggested with venue seating chart), it would be nice to at least know what seats are sold when you have an event with reserved seating.

            • Add link to event in cart page and checkout page like did it in order detail view

              When you add ticket to cart and go to cart to checkout, you just see static text of ticket, without link to event, and can't go back to check what you put into cart ;)
              The same case when you press proceed to checkout and get on checkout page.
              Only when you complete order, in your order list you can see text of ticket and link to event

              • Managing attendees and order information from admin

                As an admin, I need to manage attendees of an event. For example I may need to remove an attendee, or edit the contact information of an attendee, I may also need to add an attendee to an event.

                For example a company buys 4 tickets to an event, but later on finds out that one employee could not make it, the company then calls and ask admin to remove a ticket.

                • Test all features and views for speed and viewability against a LARGE event set

                  This is not so much a feature request but a product testing request. There are a number of ways that I love TEC, but the performance and some of the views do not seem optimized for a site with many events.

                  As the best example, the week the view, which would be extremely useful compared to the month view for loading speed, is just absolutely unviewable with more than a couple events per day. My clients have 5-8 events per day, and it's impossible to see any of them due to how they overlap. It would be vastly preferable to…

                  • allow user to save/star events

                    Allow users to save, star or favourite events. So they can plan which events they would like to attend. This would be a huge value-add to the end user where there are a lot of events to choose from and they may want to attend a few.

                    • Have a required/primary ticket

                      Conferences will often have evening events that are extra cost, or are limited in quantity, requiring an extra ticket for the attendee.

                      This requires us to have multiple tickets for a conference event.

                      However these "extra" events are only for those who have purchased a "primary ticket" to the conference.

                      In this instance, we'd like the ability to make the primary ticket required. This would take care of the instance where someone buys a ticket for the evening event, without buying the conference ticket.

                        I would like to see an option in for the different website fields to indicate a target. We work with many external websites, and therefore we prefer that a website (url) is opened in a new page (instead of in the active window)

                        Event Venue webiste, Organizers website and Event Website target= option [_blank, _parent, _self, _top]

                        • Integrate with Campaign Monitor to send reminder and thankyou email notifications

                          Currently there is no to send reminder and thankyou email notifications. Also there is no easy way to integrate any user who books a ticket into any leading emarketing solutions such as Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor to perform these tasks.

                          After investigation, In order to achieve this you need to
                          1. Use Events Calendar & Tickets Plus to enable users to book tickets
                          2. Use Woocomerce to generate the order & create a users account
                          3. Use Zapier to integrate users details to Campaign Monitor
                          4. Use Campaign Monitor to setup automated journeys (Reminders, Thankyou's) and for all future communication

                          • Featured Image for Calendar Share

                            Featured Image for Calendar Share

                            If you want to share your calendar on Social Media (like LinkedIn or Facebook) those sites will automatically pick up an image to display whether you like it or not.

                            At the moment there is no way to control that image in the Calendar settings. By default Facebook or Linkedin will just pick up the first available image from your website which in most cases, will have nothing to do with your Events Calendar.

                            • Private event

                              Saw some discussion for private calendar. Would be great to have private events for logged in members without needing to add a patch. For example, set the event to published as private which would then be viewable by members only.

                              Perhaps this is already a feature?

                              • Multiple day events with 1 day, 2 das or more days variation of ticket

                                I organize event where i have:
                                - 1 day tickets for 5€ (for example Friday ticket)
                                - free tickets for children (Friday ticket)
                                - Saturday ticket for 5€
                                - Saturday ticket for children for free
                                - 2 days ticket for 8€ (Friday + Saturday)
                                - same for children...

                                So, how i should or is it possible to set the space that it will calculate right numbers of free places?
                                So if there are 100 places and I sell 1 ticket for Friday, there will be 99 tickets for Friday (paid or free for kids) and 100 tickets for Saturday. And…

                                • Send mail to each attendee (when the buyer takes several tickets)

                                  Just imagine. I want to go at the event because is so great. I'm with my friends i want to invite them. I buy 15 tickets. On eah ticket, i will fill the textefields and put each name/surname/mail for my friends. I pay and i will receive my mail with all attendee. But i will be the only one who will receive this mail.
                                  If i go to the event not in the same time that my friend, how they can have their tickets?

                                    • Report to obtain email addresses for Community Events Publishers

                                      There is currently no way to locate the event publishers email addresses or contact info!

                                      The success of community events depends on having a motivated, active publishing community! We need to be able to contact the people adding events.

                                      Create a back-end report to pull all event publishers email addresses so they can be contacted via email and reminded to post 2018 events etc. (wp-admin creating CSV file)?

                                      • Better import scheduling control

                                        I have 300+ subscriptions updating weekly... I need to spread them out over the week, and over the day, so that I don't get too many new events all at once. Having to open each one separately is far too tedious. I would also only want updates to happen within certain hours (ie: 7am -7pm, M-F) so that notifications aren't going out in the middle of the night. A *magic* button that automatically spread them out over the specified window would be fantastic.

                                        • 72 hour import interval

                                          Add an option between "daily" and "weekly" to run imports. Many of my 300+ subscriptions are updated a couple of times per week... so a 72-hour option would be perfect.
