Id like to be able to move where the field appears in the backend instead of the newest item always being last.
For example I had a client ask me to add times to the opening acts. There were already 3 opening acts set up within the calendar with different atributes for each.
Since each new time atribute matched with an opening artist I made sense to group it with that artist like the rest of the atributes, not have all the times at the end of the list so I had to re-input all the opening acts.29 votes
Would like to include the "Powered by Events Calendar Pro" link on my client's calendars (to share the love and tell the world how awesome the plugin is) however, the link needs to open in a new tab rather than replace my clients calendar page. A simple mark-up is all that is needed.
We publish an annual planning calendar and would like to duplicate it online. It would be really helpful if there were a way for our users to export a calendar year's worth of events at a time. Or better, a way to specify a date-range for exporting. I realize that a large date-range (perhaps even a year) would create a lot of entries, but for planning purposes, that's what users require. Asking them to export month-by-month seems a little cumbersome.27 votessolution provided · AdminThe Events Calendar (Product Owner, The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) responded
Check out our extension which allows you do do various kinds of advanced exports :) https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/advanced-ical-export/
I am writing this to give you a suggestion to develop an Android and iOS app for your Event Plugin. I am a freelancer an often use this plugin for my clients as I love it. Unfortunately, Many Clients do not want to login to their dashboard to add an event. They often say if there is any way to add events from mobile phone or if they can add an event on Google Calendar, it should be added on Website Events page too on auto. So I face such feedback. Today I thought to give you a suggestion to have a smartphone app integrated with your plugin. May be you can nave it as a premium feature, but it will help alot of people who do not like to look at dashboards of there website. Thank You

Make Sticky Work in List view to give the ability to feature an event.26 votes
Some companies need to hide the past events from your agenda, keeping the focus only in future events. The Events Calendar PRO do not have this option.26 votes
My users have requested a feature to allow them to see recently posted events - very useful for those who check the calendar regularly.26 votessolution provided · AdminThe Events Calendar (Product Owner, The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) responded
We’ve written a snippet that allows you to customize the list widget to show recently added events. Check it out: http://m.tri.be/uc
I want to exclude past events from the main wordpress search results. I found others with the same request.25 votes
I saw a feature on Eventbrite's event page today that would be a great addition. Links to directions to venue from your current location.
It has links based on modes of transport.24 votes
It would be great to have the option to group events by day in the list view: Essentially creating a list that would look something like this;
Now we do have the List view, which is grouped by Month only, with no way to group events happening the same day under the same heading. (Apart from creating a template override I guess... )22 votesneeds more votes · AdminThe Events Calendar (Product Owner, The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) responded
Thank you for sharing your idea. We are looking forward to seeing what others think of it as well. :)
Standard behaviour is that it uses the full size. Adjusting is possible via theming and page template, but in most themes this is easily adjustable, so why not here.
AND: less work in case of a major update.20 votes
On our website we have chosen Month View as our default calendar view. When a user searches an event that occurs in a future month, they see nothing because search results always display the current month. The user thinks the event doesn't exist, in cases where the event happens in a future month.
We'd like to request this be changed so that search results display the month of the first occurrence of the event... a more effective means to display results and improve user experience.
Thanks for considering!19 votes
I would love to see a simple or summary view of events. Just a list showing each event on one line with date, event name, organiser, and venue (and maybe a category): Eg:
06 - Tuesday Track at DISC - Brunswick Cycling Club - DISC
07 - The Loop Criterium - Eastern Veterans Cycling Club - Yarra Boulevard
We’ve started design and strategy around this, but requires some backend development changes before we’ll be able to implement it. We’ll keep you posted!
Right now, The Events Calendar keyword search searches the Title, Post Body, and Post Excerpt.
I suggest that you add the option to include selected WP post-meta fields (custom fields) to the keyword search.
This would be extremely helpful, as a number of sites include various page information in custom postmeta fields. I would suggest it not search postmeta by default, but include the option to select which post_meta fields are included in the keyword search.17 votesneeds more votes · AdminThe Events Calendar (Product Owner, The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) responded
That’s a great idea! Let’s see how many votes it gets.
Many events have lots of sponsors in order to make them a success. Many events are supported by sponsors, generally financially and in return ask for advertising and promotion at an event or through the events media - website, Facebook, flyers etc.
It would be great if you could add sponsors to the single event page, with the sponsor name, logo and weblink.17 votes
Our organization would like an easy way to compile event statistics for a specific time period (calendar year, for example). TEC doesn't include any such reporting functionality and I'm not aware of any 3rd party solutions to this other than using an SQL tool.
Data that we would be interested in includes:
- number of events in the time period
- number of tickets sold in the time period
- total revenue for the time period
I would love to see you allow multi-day events to allow exclusion for dates. For example a 5 day training that starts on Wednesday and ends Tuesday, excludes weekend days. You could do this the same way you exclude dates in a reoccurring event now.16 votes
This doesnt neccesarily have to be a repo, it could just be a link to a versioned zip file.
Im sure its a major strurcture change, but, for instance, I can include ACF in my composer.json via the a link to a versioned zip file with my account key:
This is like, the lowest feature on the totem pole, but if you ever end up refactoring how pro files are distributed, it would be great if you would consider it.15 votesneeds dev review · AdminThe Events Calendar (Product Owner, The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) responded
Thanks for the suggestion and the comments. We’ll keep this open and see what kind of interest there is from other developers.
The main reason I upgraded to the PRO version of The Events Calendar was to take advantage of the recurring events feature, however after setting this up the 'Upcoming Events' sidebar widget has now become useless as it simply displays the same event over and over because several of the occurrences are before the next independent event.
I would like to see the option to only show the next instance of a recurring event in the widget's list.14 votesneeds more votes · AdminThe Events Calendar (Product Owner, The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) responded
I imagine, with enough votes, we might be able to implement one or all of the following:
- a widget checkbox option like: “don’t show other occurrences within the same recurrence series as a related event within this widget”
- a checkbox in the general settings that does this globally
- a checkbox in the recurrence settings (so as to not be available to non-recurring single events) that does this per series – for controlling display on the single event view’s related events
Enable importing events/venues/organizers via XML (either file or URL, preferably URL). Some great event feeds are available in XML only.14 votes
