Feature Ideas
Hey there and welcome to our feature request forum for The Events Calendar, Event Tickets and all of the premium plugins we develop provide on TheEventsCalendar.com!
We’re always looking for new and awesome ways to improve our products. We think they’re pretty great out of the box, but we also know that there are often things that could make them even better for how folks like yourself use them in the real world. Our tools help the right people, get to the right place at the right time. How can we improve our products and make them super awesome for you and your users? That’s where we can use your help!
If there are features that our products do not currently support but you think would be a huge added value for you and lots of other people, then please share them here with us. The submission form will walk you through a few quick questions to get the ball rolling.
Before posting your idea, here are a few tips that will help make your request stand out and succeed:
- Look to see if someone else has suggested the same idea, or something very similar. Many ideas are being submitted and it’s very possible that another request already exists. In that case, add your vote to the existing request.
- Be as descriptive as possible. What does the feature do? Where would it be located? Who would use it? How does this improve the overall experience of managing an events calendar in WordPress?
- Use mockups, if possible. Pictures are worth a thousand words and having a visual often brings a greater level of clarity to an idea.
Please not, this is not a place to get support or ask questions about how the plugin works. If you need help, please visit our help desk. If you use our free core plugin, you can post in our forum on WordPress.org.

Filter events by date range / day on single venue / organiser pages
It would be nice to be able to filter the events in a single venue by date.
Consider in the case of a trade show / festival / university model which may have multiple stages / theatres with multiple events occurring over several days. It would be good to display these both in a page and in a widget.66 votesneeds more votes ·AdminThe Events Calendar (Product Owner, The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) responded
That’s a really cool idea. Maybe we could just add the whole Tribe Bar to those pages?

Past Events Widget
It would be awesome to have a Past Events widget to show previous events. My business uses the ECP to show all of our tournaments, and people always want to see the results, which are embedded on each event page. A widget to automatically show the previous (1-20) events would save sooooo much time! Thanks for your consideration!

This is a great idea and we really appreciate you sharing it. It is very possibly something we could build as an extension or an enhancement we could include in of our feature updates. We will continue keeping an eye on this, and slot it as soon as we can amongst our hundreds of other great feature ideas.
Cheers!

Customizable permalink structure for individual events
Allow customization of the permalink structure of individual events. It would be awesome to have the ability to enable permalinks that mirror those used by other posts within Wordpress. For example, the ability to have a URL such as http://www.website.com/events/2016/06/08/event-title/. This would be a big help in avoiding conflicting URLs for repeating events.

Add "Show Google Map" and "Show Google Maps Link" options to Default Content Settings Page
I would love to see the "Show Google Map" and "Show Google Maps Link" checkboxes added under the Default Venue drop down on the Default Content setting page.
I have a site where 99% of the events happen on location so they don't need a map to be shown, but there's 1% which happen off-site so a map is very helpful.
It would be a great optimization of our time to be able to have it so the "Show Google Map" and/or "Show Google Maps Link" could be unchecked by default when creating an event (making this an option for…

allow the option to add attendee information to the emailed tickets and admin confirmation.
Thank you for the ability to collect Attendee Information i.e., First and Last Name of multiple tickets to the actual purchase process prior to check out. Now, how about an option to add that collected information to either the Attendee Ticket and / or the Administrator email?

Import from Openagenda.com
Should be great to integrate Openagenda.com agenda directly in The Event Calendar

Certificate of Complettion
As a professional association, we would like to provide a PDF certificate to attendees with the event name and person's name in the certificate, along with the number of CPE hours the event qualifies for. This certificate should be made available in a member area specific to the user, or emailed to the registered user, but only upon check-in. This would be tremendously helpful. Thank you.

Conditional fields
We suggest to implement conditional fields in the form, so that it would be possible to show a specific dropdown list or another depending on the content of the main dropdown list

Interesting idea. Until this collects more votes you could try the following as a workaround:
- Use the WooCommerce product page to sell tickets. Here’s how to do that:

- Use Gravity Forms to create the form you need.Hope this helps.

Add entry field for Event Excerpt to the Community Events event submission screen to improve look of tooltip
I am using Community Events to have non-admin people submit their events for course listings.
The tooltip for these events look awful as the HTML is stripped out of the event description when the wptrimwords functions is run.
I realize that this has already been addressed by not stripping the HTML from the excerpt of the event, however entry of the excerpt is not available in the event submission form in the Community Events plugin.
On the event submission form in Community Events please add the Excerpt as a entry field.5 votes -
Ability to configure end date/time for editing of ticket attendee information
We run an event and collect attendee information that must be submitted to the venue x days in advance of the event. It would be very helpful if we could configure an end date/time for the ability to edit attendee information for a given event/ticket.
Also, it appears that attendee information is currently editable indefinitely. I would recommend that the ability to edit attendee information be disabled by default once the event has occurred. Leaving open the ability to edit attendee information indefinitely opens the possibility that reports on past event attendees could have incorrect information (not likely, but possible).

Include the time and date that an attendee was checked in
I'm using Event Tickets Plus with woocommerce to sell tickets to a daily event, admission to a museum. I am not using event calendar pro at all. I would like to be able to see the time and date that a ticket was checked in on the attendee list, not just the date the ticket was sold on, because they can use the ticket when they want. I want to be able to sort by date or use a date picker, and to be able to export that data and see the check-in date on there also. We want to…

Add support for Name Your Price in Event Tickets Plus for charity events (requires woo commerce name your price)
Add support for Name Your Price in Event Tickets Plus for charity events (requires woo commerce name your price)
This allows you to create an event with a ticket. The ticket has a suggested price, but allows the buyer to buy it for whatever price they want. In essence it is a donation for an event27 votesneeds more votes ·AdminThe Events Calendar (Product Owner, The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) responded

Enable latitude longitude for the community events front end submission form.
We have a lot of events that don’t have a proper address, and I’d like to offer them the option to enter those in if they know them. Even better to offer a link to a tool to find them out. These fields are available in the backend for events, so I don’t know why it shouldn’t be for the front end. I feel like there should just an option to click on from the settings, rather than having to create a customized version of the front end template.

Shortcode(s) to display specific event content, meta, ticket/rsvp fields in any page or post
I see shortcodes that allow the display of calendars and event lists, but not to display the content (description) of a specific event in a page or post.
This might seem redundant, but at times it might be desireable to be able to include the details for as specific event in a page other than the event detail page, and have it automatically kept in sync with any changes made to the event in the calendar record.
Other shortcodes to separately enable the display of the event meta data, map, and perhaps even the rsvp/ticket block might also provide a…

include WP post_meta fields in keyword search
Right now, The Events Calendar keyword search searches the Title, Post Body, and Post Excerpt.
I suggest that you add the option to include selected WP post-meta fields (custom fields) to the keyword search.This would be extremely helpful, as a number of sites include various page information in custom postmeta fields. I would suggest it not search postmeta by default, but include the option to select which post_meta fields are included in the keyword search.

Select which event details to show on main views
The idea is to add an admin interface where users can select which details they want to be viewable on the main calendar views, such as List or Month. An On/Off toggle could be made available for some or all of the following event details:
* Title
* Description
* Featured Image
* Organizer
* Venue
* Recurring
* Cost
* Categories
* Tags
* Event Website
In some cases this will allow you to view more fields than are now shown by default, in others it will hide the default details if you toggle them off. This will bring…107 votes
