Set separate event recurrence limit for contributors
This would be for Community + Pro. As admin I'd naturally use the uppermost limit for neverending events, but for community contributors, a smaller max time period and/or total number of events would be great. Really, just having a max number of total events allowed.
I'd like a way to prevent a group from posting the same recurring event every day. To quote another user:
<<Along these lines I would like to be able to add other limits. For example, let’s say someone entered a daily recurring event for the entire 12 months. I would consider that an abuse, and I would have to delete 365 events. Having a way to suppress specific instances of recurring events like that so they cannot be entered would be great.>>
Thank you for clarifying that.
I can totally see how that would be super useful.
Hopefully, this idea will gain some traction and get many votes.
In the meantime, the only way to accomplish that would probably through some template customization, including with our recommended customizers.
Thanks for the reply! I am aware of that option and use it. My concern is I'd like to prevent community users from being able to create a ton of listings; i.e. every day for x months. I can easily foresee some folks generating a lot of stuff for our administrator to clean up. It would be nice to limit the total number of events they can create, and if they want to create more, just have a text box in which they describe the recurrence and the administrator can edit the event in review.
I guess comes down to a basic feeling of insecurity about having users out there writing stuff directly to the database, even if it is pending.
