Add featured image to Events widget
We have the ability to choose lots of different data to display or hide... all except image. I really want to show my next three events with images and details below instead of the clunky calendar graphic with the date. it just doesn't look good.
I think you should have small thumbnail photos in the widget list calendar
Yes, it would be nice to see images for all events, not just Featured Events. I could get that effect not by making every event a "Featured Event," but that defeats the original purpose of Featured Events, which is to make a select few stand out.
Thank you for the feedback Denon.
You make a valid point about the snippets. We are working on improving how these integrate with our plugin while keeping in mind that including all of the snippets in our core code would create a really high number of options available, which in turn might reduce clarity.
So this is very much a balancing act.
As for the design feedback, I'll make sure I forward your comment to Jony Ive. We do share your disappointment on how he failed to make our plugin look like it was designed by Apple ;-)
I'm also voting for this. This is a GREAT plugin, however, these are things that should be part of the plugin and shouldn't require coding. There are many people that aren't capable of coding. Websites are supposed to be visibly appealing. The plug in is great, but some parts of it look like they were designed by microsoft, not apple. ;)

On my blog I described the process of creating a widget with the option to choose from past / upcoming events and with photo or without it.

Sorry blog is in polish but i think you can handle...
Ideally I'd like to display the thumbnail, title, date and excerpt in the upcoming events. Currently title and date are supported, but the widget display is text centric and not very attractive.
