I suggest you ...

Add support for the calendar in a subdirectory like /subdir/events/

Currently we can use /Events or /Calendar as the root level or slug. I propose having the ability to use /Football/Schedule or /Parents/Calendar

So far we have used The Events Calendar on sites where /events is part of the top level in the site IA. We are building a site where the site IA has Events listed under About. I am surprised this hasn't been a feature all along.

The lack of this feature has prevented me from using this plugin on several sites. Surely it's not that difficult to implement?

This is probably something that can be pretty easily supported. The built-in WordPress register_post_type() 'has_archive' and 'rewrite' => 'slug' can handle a string with a slash. It appears as though the settings form validation filters out anything that includes a slash.
