Feature Ideas

Hey there and welcome to our feature request forum for The Events Calendar, Event Tickets and all of the premium plugins we develop provide on TheEventsCalendar.com!

We’re always looking for new and awesome ways to improve our products. We think they’re pretty great out of the box, but we also know that there are often things that could make them even better for how folks like yourself use them in the real world. Our tools help the right people, get to the right place at the right time. How can we improve our products and make them super awesome for you and your users? That’s where we can use your help!

If there are features that our products do not currently support but you think would be a huge added value for you and lots of other people, then please share them here with us. The submission form will walk you through a few quick questions to get the ball rolling.

Before posting your idea, here are a few tips that will help make your request stand out and succeed:

  • Look to see if someone else has suggested the same idea, or something very similar. Many ideas are being submitted and it’s very possible that another request already exists. In that case, add your vote to the existing request.
  • Be as descriptive as possible. What does the feature do? Where would it be located? Who would use it? How does this improve the overall experience of managing an events calendar in WordPress?
  • Use mockups, if possible. Pictures are worth a thousand words and having a visual often brings a greater level of clarity to an idea.

Please not, this is not a place to get support or ask questions about how the plugin works. If you need help, please visit our help desk. If you use our free core plugin, you can post in our forum on WordPress.org.

I suggest you ...

  1. Show Attendee Details on QR Scan

Having the ability to check-in tickets via the new QR scan app is helpful, however all of our tickets have options available via Attendee Details that need to be shown. Shirt size for instance. If a summary of these details were displayed on QR scan it would stream line our check-in process.

  2. Scan tickets for specific event only

The app is connected to the store with an API key. However with an event for today and one for tomorrow, people with tickets for tomorrow can attend today. There should be a way of limiting the scans to a selected event

  3. Allow people to view ticket type when using Event Tickets Plus App to check in

When using your awesome new app to scan tickets we cannot view what ticket type is being checked in.
Unfortunately I'm finding this out the day before our large event which has multiple ticket types available.
A simple notice when it scans to say what ticket (type) it is would be perfect.

  4. Enable Attendee Information on WooCommerce Tickets

The ability to collect the same attendee information when using the WooCommerce product of an Event Ticket.

There are times when I want to allow users to purchase tickets on the event single page as well as on a dedicated conference page. However, the attendee information is not available on the WooCommerce product of the Event ticket. As these are instantions of the same ticket, the attendee information should captured in a consistent manner and available in the attendee list.

  5. Improved Availability Settings

Offer settings for stock management so that the user can decide how they would like the programme to behave.

E.g. for us, if an attendee is moved/deleted/refunded, we would ALWAYS want the stock/availability to increase back (not sure why anyone wouldn't to be hones). You don't offer this an an option so we have to manually check every time what has happened (and manually adjust if necessary).

  6. Mass export all attendees

An option to export a list of all event attendees in Wordpress to a CSV file, with cells for date, event info, registration info, etc. The list is available as a Wordpress export file, but is downloaded as a WP XML.

  7. Autofill the Event Tickets header image

Make it possible to add the WooCommerce Product featured image from within the ticket meta-block in the event. I would be perfectly happy with either of three solutions:
    1 reusing the header image
2 reusing the featured image of the event
3 selecting a separate image for just this reason.

But can understand if option 1 might conflict with how the image might be used otherwise and option 2 might conflict with the fact that the ticket is stored basically separate from the event, so perhaps option 3 should be it and will save me a lot of time anyway.…

  8. Ticket upsells / custom additional charges

It would be good to be able to have the special information you can add to each ticket monetised. So for instance we sell tickets in a brewery for a special steak night. We would like to be able to have the option on the same ticket to select with drinks or without drinks but the option for with drinks to add £5 on to the ticket price. This way we can sell a smaller array of tickets, which helps out capacity management, but with options that are either non monetised or that can be used as upgrades to that…

  9. Ticket sales via Stripe without Woo

The recently released Event Tickets with Paypal is great, but purchasers still have to leave your web site and go out to Paypal. It would be great if this solution also included Stripe, which allows you to have the credit card form on the order page.

  10. Add a test qrcode that can be used to test Event Tickets Plus app

It would be extremely useful to have a test qrcode which can be used to test the event tickets plus app.
As well, it would be helpful to have a log of scans.
And the message for a completed scan should read "Ticket Checked In"
In fact, there is no reason why this message couldn't be customised.

  11. Add payment method on e-ticket.

It would be helpful, if the payment method would be stated on the e-ticket, which the user/guest prints out at home and brings to the event.

Some people are still old fashion and would much rather pay at the door than online and to accommodate this, the user can order tickets online, check "Pay at the door" as payment method and prints out the e-ticket. However, in order for the usher/clerk to know, if the ticket has been paid for, it should state the payment method on the ticket.

  12. Add "Ticket Fieldset" to CSV import for tickets.

My client offers after-school events per quarter for dozens of schools. Every event has a required ticket fieldset (child's name, age, medications and allergies, etc.)

I've got CSV imports working for events. And even though importing corresponding tickets is a little clumsy since you have to somehow match event titles or IDs I've got that working as well.

It's a big pain having to go in after and manually add Ticket Fieldsets to every imported event.

Since saved Ticket Fieldsets are already named please add a CSV import column for those as well.

  13. Event Tickets: Reset Deleted Attendees count on Attendees list

Need a way to reset the 'Deleted Attendees' count on the Attendees list. After we delete all Orders, all Attendees, and reset the Products total_sales to 0, it is still showing the prior 'Deleted Attendees' count. We have yearly recurring events, so we re-use the same events each year. Copying the event to a new one doesn't help, it still retains that count as soon as you place an order on the new event.

  14. Allow the sale of other WooProducts with tickets on events page

Often there are items tied into an event Organizer would like to sell at the time of purchasing tickets (event t-shirts, caps, journal Ads). As confirmed with support there is no way to show these add-one on the events page. Suggest a feature where an organizer could add existing WooCommerce products to be sold with tickets. Note that for simplicity these would be products to be picked up at event (no need to go through the shipping dialogue).

  15. Woocommerce: Sales by Event Category Report

    Hi there,

I would like to be able to see a report within Woocommerce: Sales by Event Category.

At the moment this is a feature within the Events Calendar for Event Categories, but there is no way to measure the sales of a specific category. Therefore if we invest Google marketing into a specific event category there is no easy evaluation of sales.

At the moment you can search by specific event, but we have 100s of events.

    Cheers.

  16. Dropdown in the ticket area

Wouldn't i be nice have a dropdown in the ticket area so the user can just choose a ticket (when having multiple tickets) at that line and not having to scroll down (Bad UX when having many types of tickets). After the ticket is selected the right price is shown and you can just fill in the attendee information and go to the check out.

  17. Limit RSVP or Woocommerce ticket Registration to ONE (or selectable value) for the same event

I think it's necessary have a feature to limit the number of RSVP registrations that a single user can do. It can be useful both with mandatory logging for RSVP registration and with guest users. It doesn't make sense that a single user can register more than one reservation.

Please add your votes to this idea, and add your comments to share your use cases.

If we were to implement this, it would be based on the user login, not IP addresses.

In the meantime, one of these snippets may be helpful:

  18. enable selection of multiple saved fieldsets

When creating custom attendee information, enable the ability to select more than one saved fieldset. Right now there is only the option to select one, and then the ability to add saved fieldsets goes away. I'd like to be able to add multiple (such as Guest Contact & Meal Preference).

  19. Add Permissions & Capabilities for Ticket Fieldsets

Currently Permissions can be added for:
    - Events
    - Venues
    - Organisers

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/admin-roles-and-permissions/

However there are no capabilities for "Ticket Fieldsets" therefore it uses the "edit_posts" functionality.

You are therefore unable to segment these users from being able to also edit posts.

Would be good to have a set of capabilities for ticket fieldsets
    i.e.

    edit_tribe_ticket
    read_tribe_ticket
    delete_tribe_ticket
    delete_tribe_ticket
    edit_tribe_ticket
    edit_others_tribe_ticket
    delete_others_tribe_ticket
    publish_tribe_ticket
    edit_published_tribe_ticket
    delete_published_tribe_ticket
    delete_private_tribe_ticket
    edit_private_tribe_ticket
    read_private_tribe_ticket

  20. More types and validation options for ticket fieldsets

The ability to save "ticket fieldsets" for re-use is a great time-saver. However, I find myself wanting to have more options for field types and validation options.

    Some examples:

    1) number field type
    2) email validation (could be as simple as validating that entered string is xxx@yyy.zzz where zzz is a valid TLD)
    3) phone number validation
    4) date validation
    5) custom validation

    Thanks!
