Hey there and welcome to our feature request forum for The Events Calendar, Event Tickets and all of the premium plugins we develop provide on TheEventsCalendar.com!

We’re always looking for new and awesome ways to improve our products. We think they’re pretty great out of the box, but we also know that there are often things that could make them even better for how folks like yourself use them in the real world. Our tools help the right people, get to the right place at the right time. How can we improve our products and make them super awesome for you and your users? That’s where we can use your help!

If there are features that our products do not currently support but you think would be a huge added value for you and lots of other people, then please share them here with us. The submission form will walk you through a few quick questions to get the ball rolling.

Before posting your idea, here are a few tips that will help make your request stand out and succeed:

  • Look to see if someone else has suggested the same idea, or something very similar. Many ideas are being submitted and it’s very possible that another request already exists. In that case, add your vote to the existing request.
  • Be as descriptive as possible. What does the feature do? Where would it be located? Who would use it? How does this improve the overall experience of managing an events calendar in WordPress?
  • Use mockups, if possible. Pictures are worth a thousand words and having a visual often brings a greater level of clarity to an idea.

  1. Highlight months with events in query by calendar date

    In the query by date of the general calendar, it would be very useful in projects that do not have events every month, highlight the months with registered events (it can be just by changing the color of the text). That would help a lot.

    • Allow orderby / order to be passed to Rest API endpoints

      Allow user the ability to pass through orderby / order via query to the Rest API endpoints.

      E.g.
      /wp-json/tribe/events/v1/events?order=desc
      /wp-json/tribe/events/v1/events?orderby=id
      /wp-json/tribe/events/v1/events?orderby=start_date&order=desc

      • Tickets Grouping

        Would be really nice if there was a grouping option for tickets to make it less messing when there are many tickets options, something like the image below.

        • Give options for events

          We teach courses with multiple options like do you want a book? do you want to add additional training, etc. For now we have to have a separate ticket for each option. Very time intensive and especially since we can't "duplicate" a ticket for another date. We need to have a single ticket with the ability to add options to this ticket.

          • Multi-currency compatibility for selling tickets

            We sell in multiple currencies (where prices are fixed in each currency, not just converted from one to another) and so we operate in a multi-currency Woocommerce environment which means we cannot use Events Calendar without it becoming multi-currency compatible. Multi-currency is typically provided by a plugin such as Aelia which is what we use https://aelia.co/shop/currency-switcher-woocommerce/ Please adopt this so we can sell tickets to events anywhere around the world, with prices set independentlly in each location, in their local currency!

            • Add the ability to upload a custom Text block to each email Ticket in addition to the Header Image.

              For some of our events we do not provide the venue address until after a ticket has been purchased. To accomplish this I am creating a jpg with the address information and uploading it as the ticket header image. The feature i am requesting is to allow the upload of text in addition to the current Header image upload functionality. The text block should be displayed immediately below the Header Image (if a header image has been uploaded).

              This would provide the ability to add custom instructions and other information to the ticket email for each ticket type without making…

              • Allow users to vote on events that they wish to be published

                Allow users to add 'no date' events that can be voted on by other users. Once the set vote amount has been reached the event will be added by an admin. As certain vote goals are met, extra activities/features are added to the event that make it more appealing. (Sort of like crowd funding, but for event voting.)

                • Make it easy to separate community events from other events

                  Now, community events (CE) all get merged into the Main event calendar. We have no control to speak of to keep the two separate. I can call just CE, or I can call everything BUT CE, but there is no simple way just remove CEs from the from the MC. All your filters are -inclusive- and you have no -exclude- filters. If our categories change (as they do) with the current setup we also have to edit every -inclusive- call.

                  2) there is no way for force a category on CEs. Folks adding a new ce have the option of…

                    Hello: I think it would be a good option, to have the possibility of adding a Date field to the ticket, to collect here the information entered by the assistant. For example, we could use it to collect the date of birth, the day you want to book a specific event ...

                    • Make 'Categories' available via the REST Api

                      A simple list of all of the event categories in a separate url would be extremely handy!

                        Thank you for taking the time to reach out and share an idea. It’s good to know what would be handy for the devs.

                        To quote our chief strategist “we’ll be adding it for sure”. We do not have an ETA. This was just added to our roadmap which maps out over a years worth of the team’s time and is full up at the moment. But as soon as we’re able this feature will be added. Hopefully it is something we can slip in when there is a small opening.

                      • Allow file upload for pdfs

                        Currently community events limits file upload to images. An additional pdf upload would be handy.

                        • Make the orders screen able to export a csv like the attendees screen can.

                          It would be great if you could export the orders report like the attendees report. My client needs both reports for different uses, and it's counter intuitive to provide a file for one and necessitate a login for the other.

                          • include link privacy policy automatically for each event

                            Privacy policies are required by EU law for anyone collecting personal information. This should show up automatically as a link or something on the event page. And everyone who RSVP's or buys tickets for an event should have to tick a box where they accept the privacy policy (and terms & conditions, which was already in another suggestion (vote for that too!)).

                            • Offer button to copy and paste all registered attendee emails with comma option inbetween

                              I have a suggestion for approach to mass-emailing attendees who have already registered for an event. I know that incorporating mass email into the plugin where the server is doing the email for you is a complicated procedure that may or may not work depending on server settings. An easier approach could be when you click on “Attendees” on the specific event where there are options towards the top for “Print”, “Email”, and “Export” you add another button like “Copy Email Addresses” so it brings up a window that you add sorting options to sort for those who are processing,…

                              • Display events automatically in web visitor's timezone

                                Currently, the options allow you to use your WordPress timezone OR local timezones for each event. None of these options will automatically update the date and time of your event based on the user's local timezone.

                                • Add a SMS Text messaging option as reminder for events

                                  Having an email and SMS reminder option for events would be great for teams or groups.

                                  • Combine the Advanced Filter Bar with Standard Tribe Bar

                                    It would be great if the advanced filter bar completely replaced the standard bar once installed. This was we can maintain the functionality of both, but only have a single filter/search bar on the screen. Right now it is a bit confusing to have two separate filters. I have noticed several complains on the forums and on the feature request page stating that viewers are becoming confused by the filter options and unable to find their desired events. Although many solutions have been proposed, I think merging the two bars would mitigate a majority of the concerns and reduce space…

                                      • Change ticket purchase form position on individual events

                                        I know that I can change the position of the ticket purchase form globally via Events > Settings > Tickets > Location of Tickets form. For a site with a majority of impulse-purchase events that are low cost, it is a good idea to put the ticket form at the top so people can click it and buy immediately.

                                        But there are times, for a few expensive events, when it is better to place the ticket purchase form at the end of the "long sell" so people don't get sticker shock at the top of the event page and click…

                                        • One-page Checkout on Event pages

                                          For a streamlined purchase process, put the checkout form directly on the Event page. (See Woocommerce One-Page Checkout by Prospress)

                                          This would also solve the request by several people to be able to skip the Cart page to go direct to Checkout, and might also resolve the issue of quantities being changed in the Cart or at Checkout.

                                          If there were a dynamic panel right above the checkout form that summarized the custom data fields that would also potentially resolve the issue of making changes during checkout that are then not reflected in those fields .
