Thanks for sharing your solution, Brent. I will note that in the status here. Although this will still remain open for votes so we can gauge interest and see if it makes sense as a built in feature.

Thanks for your votes! We have this on our longterm roadmap for Event Tickets Plus.
Some folks have started using the free Event Tickets addon as a waitlist ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-tickets/ ). With that plugin installed a new type of ticket becomes available: RSVP. You can add RSVPs “tickets” to sold out events. This allows users to share their email address if they are interested in attending. You can then email the list of interested users when a ticket becomes available.
With some minor wording modification you can even rename RSVP to “Waitlist” and change any other verbiage to help make this a decent wait list feature for your website.

Thanks for all the votes and feedback regarding this subscription/newsletter idea. It is something we have talked about a lot as a result of your feedback.
The author of Events Calendar Newsletter, a third party plugin, just wrote an excellent tutorial regarding integrating that plugin with The Events Calendar so folks can subscribe to your calendar. It covers sending out event based newsletters, possible ways to add a subscribe button to your site, and so forth. It seems ideally suited to the folks requesting this feature. :) We have heard nothing but good things from the users of this Newsletter plugin and wanted to share this possible 3rd party solution with y’all that’s available now.

Thank you all for your continued feedback here. This is very much something we are interested in refining. We are going to rope in a strategist to properly account for the various workflows of as many people as we can, and try to find a slick method and improved method for reporting this info to everyone. Until then please keep voting, it helps us prioritize.

When selecting multiple events you can bulk edit category/status/author. Desperately need the ability to change organizer and venue en masse instead of 1x1, especially since we have 100s of events.
When importing with FB vs. EventBrite some venues and organizers have slight variations in names ("The Place" vs "Place") which creates multiple duplicate venues and organizers that all have the same name.
If not a way to bulk edit event venue and organizer, then a way to merge duplicates would work.
