    Hello all,

We do not have a specific update on this, however, we just wanted to make sure that everybody has the latest relevant information available.

    1) Earlier this year, we have acquired Gigpress: http://gigpress.com/ and we have provided some basic integration with the Events Calendar

    2) Although not officially supported, many of our customers have successfully integrated such fields via the Advanced Custom Fields plugin

Cheers and keep the votes coming!

A step-by-step guide on how to integrate these extra fields via ACF would be welcome.

We're looking to create a page that lists some recurring performers and this feature would be useful.

This is a feature that would come in handy for us as well since we are a music related community.

Implementing a graphical solution, where you can click on a given seat and it will reserve it, is probably not possible due to the complexity and technological limitations.

However, would the ability to upload an image of your seating map/chart work? From there you could specify a list of seating names in the backend and when a user purchases a ticket they can select from a drop down of available seats, and cross reference it with your seating chart image so they now which goes where. We realize this will not be as fancy as many people are picturing, but since it is actually possible to implement it is a compromise we would be interested in looking into if this will solve your needs.

We have a KB article about this: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ticketing-using-seating-chart/

Hopefully a mores fully-fledged solution can be taken into consideration. This is rather standard for other high-end ticketing solution and if we want to compete it would be great to have that option for our organizers as well.

Just want to point out that the solution suggested by Bill works like a charm and should be added to the official suggested solution.

Please consider adding your vote to this thread : https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/6490582-visual-composer-templates-for-single-event-page

    Slightly different and more detailed.

    Hello all,

Without being a full-fledged solution, please note that the upcoming version 4.3 of Events Calendar Pro will include a shortcode for the full calendar.

This will most likely cover a lot your needs such as:
    1) Having the full calendar on the home page
    2) Integrating the Calendar in a fixed container while using Visual Composer

    Stay tuned!

We would like to have more freedom to customize the event page, an idea would be to allow unlimited templates.

The way I'm seeing this, there would be a menu in the plugin' settings, let's say "Event Template".

When you are there, you could choose a page layout just like in Visual Composer (like 2/3-1/3, 1/2-1/2 or 3/4-1/4), drag-and-drop the blocks you need for a single event page, for example : Event Title, Featured Image, Event Description, Gallery, Organizer Description, Venue description, Full-width tickets, Attendees, Comments, etc.

Once the desired design is achieved, you can then save the template and use it during the event creation, you can set a default template, or have multiple templates and override the default one when creating an event.

There could be also bundling-blocks, like "Full event description", that includes the Title, featured image and description, for example. We would clearly need a sticky sidebar block to buy tickets, like most competitor offer (it's more straightforward to buy tickets).

Responsive options would be important, but I guess that could also be managed at a deeper level within the plugin.

The most obvious suggestion I would make is to create an exhaustive list of shortcodes. As a Visual Composer user, it would then be easy to create the layout we desire. However, it's not clear how that would integrates with all events page from TEC.

    Best regards ;)

    Howdy folks,

Thanks for all the votes and feedback regarding this subscription/newsletter idea. It is something we have talked about a lot as a result of your feedback.

The author of Events Calendar Newsletter, a third party plugin, just wrote an excellent tutorial regarding integrating that plugin with The Events Calendar so folks can subscribe to your calendar. It covers sending out event based newsletters, possible ways to add a subscribe button to your site, and so forth. It seems ideally suited to the folks requesting this feature. :) We have heard nothing but good things from the users of this Newsletter plugin and wanted to share this possible 3rd party solution with y’all that’s available now.

    Cheers!

As I'm seeing this, people would have a page (maybe through a shortcode, would be great to have it compatible with buddypress) to change their notification settings.

Users would be able to choose a daily, weekly or monthly digest (or instant notification).

Users could add a set of venues/location/category... Example :

    Organizers : [Adapted Records][UKF][Coco Bongo][Loreal]
    Location : [Canada] [USA]
    Category : [Show][Meeting][Activity]

Users receive a suggestion when filling these fields, for example after writing 3 letters, a list of organizers/location/category would be suggested.

Then there would be a set of rows for activities and two columns for [Notify] [Email], example :

    New event created [x] [ ]
    Event modified [ ] [x]
    Event removed [x] [x]
    Price changed [x] [x]
    etc.

The mail template should be at least slightly editable, like adding the possibility to add our own logo.

    Regards,
    Bastien

Great feature, I'd push the idea a little bit further and allow subscription by organizer, location (venue or country/city), genre (is it a classical music event, a rock event or a networking event, etc.).

Here are some suggestions to steer the BP integration :

Add a feature that allows user to invite other users (most likely their friends, if we’re using buddypress). Something that allows them to “Attend”, “Maybe” or “Decline” the invitations (a facebook-like feature), and a way to sync these activities with the buddypress activity.

People would then be able to see who’s attending, maybe coming or declined. Hosts could send a message to members (all members, only attending, maybe, declined, etc.)

The ultimate goal would be to add a social layer to the events, to trigger a new Status when someone create an event, is attending to an event, bought a ticket (should be already managed by woocommerce), etc.

Also, users should be able to subscribe (via buddypress notifications and/or e-mail alert) to a specific venue, location or category? Example, the user would receive a notification (“One event has been submitted in your area”) and an e-mail when an new event is created matching the user parameters.

These two features would really improve the reach and use of TEC, TEC Pro and Community Events.

    Regards,
    Bastien

Note : While the filter is automatically set, nothing prevent the user from viewing worlwide events, it would just pre-fill the localization field.

Automatic localization filter based on IP/User Meta. With a worldwide community able to submit events, it would be great to automatically filter the event list using the user IP localization or through User Meta (fields provided in the user profile, buddypress compatible).

This feature would allow more targeted content to be displayed to users.
